AtomAfrica: Infrastructure Connecting Banking, Property Ownership and Credit for Nigerians
AtomAfrica is the infrastructure that connects banking, property ownership and credit for Nigerians. Here’s who we are, what we’ve built, who we build it for, and why we believe these three things belong together.

Most people won’t see AtomAfrica directly, and that’s by design.
When a customer opens their microfinance bank’s app to send money, there’s a good chance AtomAfrica is underneath it. When a trader in Ibadan buys a small piece of verified land from her weekly savings, AtomAfrica is recording it. When a lender looks at that ownership to decide whether to extend credit, AtomAfrica is what connects the two.
We’re an infrastructure company. We build the rails other institutions run on. This article explains what that means, what we’ve built so far, and why we’ve chosen to connect banking, property ownership and credit in one place.
Why we exist
Nigerians save. That part has never been in doubt. Ajo, Esusu, cooperatives, thrift groups and workplace contributions move enormous amounts of money every month.
Yet very few of those savers become owners, and even fewer can borrow against anything they own. Banks want to lend but can’t verify most people’s assets. Property is the asset Nigerians trust most, but buying it usually requires a lump sum and a lot of faith. And the systems that handle banking, ownership and credit don’t talk to each other.
We started AtomAfrica because we kept seeing the same thing: good people, good savings habits, willing banks, and no infrastructure in the middle to connect them.
What AtomAfrica does
We’ve built three connected products. Each one works on its own, but they’re designed to work best together.
AtomBank: digital banking infrastructure
AtomBank is the technology financial institutions use to serve customers digitally. It covers mobile and internet banking, personal and business banking, middleware and APIs, virtual accounts, reconciliation tools, core banking integration and hosting.
Rehoboth MFB, Sulspap MFB and Weston‑Charis MFB currently run on AtomAfrica infrastructure.
We also co‑own VendPocket with Rehoboth MFB, a fintech built on our infrastructure that has opened more than 62,000 virtual accounts, processed over 500,000 deposits and facilitated more than ₦2 billion in inflows into the bank. Before VendPocket, the bank saw under 100 deposits a day. At its peak, it was seeing 5,000.
(VendPocket figures reflect that one implementation only, not total activity across AtomAfrica‑powered infrastructure.)
AtomOwn: ownership infrastructure for asset businesses
AtomOwn gives real estate developers, and over time other asset businesses, their own ownership network. Every customer payment is recorded on a ledger. Every stake is clearly assigned. Customers can buy progressively, manage their property, and transfer ownership within the network. Developers keep their own brand and customers, and can earn from activity across the full ownership lifecycle, not just the first sale.
Six real estate companies have signed to manage their verified property on AtomAfrica infrastructure, giving us access to about 15 estates across the South West and more than ₦2 billion in property assets.
AtomCredit: connecting ownership to credit
AtomCredit links verified, recorded ownership to participating lenders. When a customer has built a real stake in a property, with the documents and payment history to prove it, that ownership becomes something a bank can assess.
Lenders always make their own decisions. What AtomCredit changes is the quality of information they decide with, so more good borrowers can be seen.
Where NairaPacket fits
NairaPacket is our consumer platform and the first full implementation of the AtomAfrica stack. It’s where everyday Nigerians buy verified property in small units called Packets, starting from ₦10,000.
People can buy on their own, save with a group while owning individually, or join structured programmes run by employers, cooperatives and institutions. When they reach full ownership, they receive a physical Deed of Assignment.
NairaPacket doesn’t own or sell its own land. It lists only from real estate companies it has verified, currently in Ibadan, Akure, Ado‑Ekiti and Abeokuta, and each property comes with title documents, a lawyer’s verification letter and a non‑encumbrance undertaking.
Who we work with
Banks and microfinance banks. We give you modern digital banking without building from scratch, plus new depositors through connected platforms and access to borrowers whose ownership you can verify.
Real estate developers. You get your own ownership network, clean payment records, an additional sales channel through NairaPacket, and income that continues after the sale.
Cooperatives, employers and institutions. Your members’ or staff contributions can turn into real, recorded property ownership instead of cash that disappears.
Everyday Nigerians. Through NairaPacket, your savings can become ownership, and that ownership can open the door to credit.
Built to be trusted
Infrastructure only works if people can rely on it. That’s why we’ve focused on doing a few things well: dependable core banking integration, properly recorded ownership, and verification on every property before it’s listed.
We’re backed by 35°N Ventures, and we work with licensed financial institutions so that every naira sits with a regulated bank. Our technology is built on standard, API‑driven systems that partner institutions can depend on long term.
